of the nations largest social dance clubs. She joined the operation of
the Sundance Dance Club with her late husband, Tom Mattox in 1991. They
then designed and built the "The Club House" in 1997. They ran
their dance studio together until his passing and she operated it for
another two years afterward. It was Southern California's largest and
most beautiful dance club and studio. Julie currently teaches group and
private dance lessons in Swing, Country, Hustle, Night Club and Ballroom
in Oakhurst, California and hosts an annual dance cruise. If you want
to learn to dance in the shortest amount of time and have almost too much
fun while doing it, check out her dance
classes for the next starting date.
Julie has been teaching

Summer Dance Festival and the Country Boogie Dance Festival. She has had
extensive unit training with the Golden State Dance Teachers Association
and is a registered dance teacher. She has also judged champion level
contests and taught workshops from coast to coast and is most recognized
for her abundant knowledge when it comes to breaking down, teaching and
remembering hot swing moves and line dances. She is a lifetime member
of the Manchester Who's Who and was voted the nations best line dance
instructor in years 1994 & 1995 and favorite night club teacher in
1995.
TOM
MATTOX
Tom
passed away on 12/21/02. He was a master level teacher who conducted workshops
from coast to coast. He hooked thousands of dancers across the nation
on west coast swing and been given credit for single-handedly bringing
west coast swing into the country western dance community where it has
flourished and grown. In 2001 Tom was inducted into the "Swing Dance
Hall of Fame" not for what he did last, but for what he has done
that will last! Tom
was a "Feather Award" recipient, a member of the U.C.W.D.C.
Founders Club, The Golden State Dance Teachers Association, The World
Swing Dance Council and a member of the N.T.A. Among Tom's other claims
to fame are the number of swing dancers in L.A. and Orange County that
got their start in his fun and entertaining dance classes, many of his
students have gone on to become champion dancers. Some of Tom's closest
friends might argue that his real claim to fame was that he was a true
Party Animal, people went to his classes, dance events, competitions,
cruises and parties to see what wild and crazy thing he would do next.
